Burton Barr: Youth Services- INTERNSHIP - By invitation only

This specific opportunity is offered through a partnership with ASU. Please contact a librarian directly before applying.

Adults can volunteer at Burton Barr Central Library in youth services. Adults may help shelve books in the children's and teen's section, help run activities for story times or special events, assist in MACH1, our maker space, and much more! Schedules are asked to be during weekday mornings during school year and all day during the summer.

Phoenix Public Library completes full background checks including fingerprinting for all adult volunteer applicants.

Requirements

*Must be 18 or older
Must be a current student with ASU enrolled in the University Internship program.
*Must attend a volunteer orientation
*Must complete fingerprinting clearance
*Enthusiasm for making things and a desire for sharing this enthusiasm with others
*Experience and/or strong interest in working with youth ages 12-18
*Skills with technology, art, craft, engineering, music, science, green design and/or other innovative themes
*Enjoys working with and meeting new people
*Able to commit to the position for a minimum of 3 months
